Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of blindness in people over 65 and the leading cause of severe vision loss in people over 50 (more than cataracts and glaucoma combined).
AMD can build slowly, then progress rapidly, leading to a loss of central vision.
Daily activities such as reading or driving can become difficult, if not altogether impossible.
Clinical Study
An exciting discovery, which slows the progression of Age-Related Macular Degeneration and reduces the risk of vision loss from AMD, was announced from a 10-year Age-Related Eye Disease Study (AREDS), sponsored by the National Eye Institute, a division of the National Institutes of Health.
The scientifically based information suggests that appropriate vitamin and mineral supplements can help protect and preserve your vision.
Those at the highest risk for developing advanced ARMD lowered their risk by about 25 per cent while those with intermediate ARMD or advanced ARMD in only one eye reduced the risk of vision loss by about 19 percent when treated with a unique high-potency, antioxidant vitamin and zinc supplement.
